How do freezes work?
When you're tempted to buy something, add it to ColdCart instead of checking out. It stays frozen for the cooldown you pick (24 hours to 7 days). When the timer ends, ColdCart asks whether you still want it — skip it and the price is added to your savings total.
How do I enable app shielding on iPhone?
App shielding is a Pro feature on iOS. Go to the Block tab, choose the shopping apps you want shielded, and grant Screen Time permission when prompted. ColdCart uses Apple's FamilyControls framework, which runs entirely on your device. You can change the shielded apps or revoke the permission anytime in iOS Settings > Screen Time.
Why doesn't Android have app shielding?
Android doesn't expose a system-level app-blocking API equivalent to Apple's Screen Time, so shielding, block lists, widgets, and Live Activities are iPhone-only. The Android app has the full core loop: freezes, decisions, reflections, savings goals, and Pip.
How do I upgrade, cancel, or get a refund?
ColdCart Pro is $3.99/month or $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial, billed through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel anytime in your store's subscription settings (deleting the app doesn't cancel). Refunds are handled by Apple/Google — request one through your store's purchase history.
I reinstalled the app — where did my Pro subscription go?
Open Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases". Your subscription is tied to your App Store / Google Play account, so restoring on the same store account brings Pro back.
Is my data backed up anywhere?
ColdCart stores everything on your device — there are no accounts and no cloud sync. Your data is included in your device's standard iCloud/Google backups if you have them enabled. Deleting the app deletes its local data.
I need to unlock a shielded app urgently.
Tap "I need access" on the shield screen. ColdCart will route you through a short hold-to-unlock in the app — a small speed bump that keeps genuine emergencies possible without making impulse shopping easy.
